DONALD J. BENNETT

Donald J Bennett’s coaching career began in 1982 as a little league coach at St. Andrews Parks and Playground in Charleston, South Carolina. He joined the US Army in 1986. During that time he won 3 championships and led the 9-10 year old All Star team to a Runner-up finish in 1984. In 2002, Coach Bennett started coaching at the YMCA and the local Park & Recreational Center. While living at Fayetteville, NC, he coached 4 years (2011-2015) at Pine Forest Middle School. In 4 years, the middle school baseball team lost 4 games total. In January 2011, Coach Bennett retired from the US Army and started coaching travel baseball and developing players in baseball. Coach Bennett started developing players and started the Carolina Rebels based out of Fayetteville, NC in 2012. The Rebels became a well-known in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida because of their hard play and willingness to take on any team. In 2015, Perfect Game had the Rebels ranked in the top 40 in the 15U Division. Serving the baseball communities has been a priority for Donald. In 2018, Carolina Rebels joined forces with 5 Star National out of Warner Robins, GA. Coach Bennett is recognized as a leader in the development of baseball players in the Sandhills and surrounding areas. Over the past 4 years, Coach Bennett has helped over 60 players receive college scholarships.

We are extremely excited to expose our players to these dynamic Coaches, Trainers and Managers. Their experience alone speaks volumes. However, the care, compassion and guidance for players will be immeasurable. We look forward to an exciting season and count it a sheer blessing to have the opportunity to coach the talented young men in the Five Star Fayetteville Baseball Organization.

Coach Jaylen Mack

is from Lumberton, North Carolina and attended Red Springs High School. He played baseball and basketball for the Devils and was a member of the Beta Club. He was selected to attend MLB Breakthrough Series on two occasions.
After High School, he attended Southeastern Community College. He played baseball and was named All East Region 2nd Team (2022). Jaylen Mack played travel baseball for Carolina Rebels and 5 Star Select.
He received a Scholarship to play at Coker. 2022-23: Appeared in 39 games for the Cobras…Recorded 26 hits, 29 runs, 14 RBI’s and 21 stolen bases…Tied for 14th in Coker Baseball Individual Season Record Stolen Bases with 21.
He is a JR majoring in Sports Administration.

Coach Isaiah Bennett

 is from Charleston, South Carolina. He spent most of his life in Fayetteville, North Carolina because his father was in the military. He attended Pine Forest High School in Fayetteville, NC. He played baseball and soccer at Pine Forest where he was Player of the Year two times in Soccer and in baseball was First Team All-Conference for 3 years.
Isaiah was selected to attend MLB Dream Series event on two occasions and Breakthrough Series on two occasions while in High School. His Junior season of High School, he had Tommy John Surgery and missed his senior year of High School. He was selected by the San Diego Padres in the 36 Round of the 2019 MLB Draft.
He was recruited by many schools and selected University of Chapel Hill. He redshirted his Freshman year and later transferred to Chipola down in Florida. Where he played for Coach Johnson.
2023: Made 20 appearances on the season with one start… Tossed 17.2 innings of relief with 17 strikeouts, including 6.2 innings of scoreless baseball… Fanned a season-high three batters at Jacksonville State. He then received a scholarship to Queens University (NC) and will be graduating this year with Degree in Psychology.
